Re Michael’s paper on Housing: Housing_a_Place_to-Live
1. Venue for Meeting: After discussion, Eddie agreed to identify some empty shops – James mentioned one on Endell Street – with a view to using one as a venue, and would also send out an invitation to housing groups and campaigns – see list of projects mentioned at DemoCafe meeting on 22nd August – to participate in the event (date yet to be agreed) – see draft: Democafe HOUSE SALE.
2. With reference to Michael Mulvey’s latest Letter from France, it was felt that this deserved wider consideration, and following Sara’s suggestion, that we use the [Discuss] list. Mary would reply and work out with Michael how best to do this. See Michael’s paper with comments added as a post on the website: Housing: A Place to Live + Comments
Re: Jeremy Corbyn’s election as Leader of the Labour Party. Michael referred to Jon Snow’s interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0NwBWVwKgY which was drawn to his attention by Critical Thinking. See also his first PMQ – his six questions were all drawn from members of the Labour Party: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-0KkGdPIz4. Following Sara’s suggestion that we should send congratulations, Mary had an email from him and would reply, and draw his attention to the DemoCafe project.
